Weekend Manicure- Checkerboard Nails!

Okay so you've all probably guessed... I LOVE nail art! Trying out new and funky designs is one of my favourite things to do! My friends are always happy to help out because they get to be my hand models for new ideas LOL

Instagram and twitter are great #inspiration for new ideas. If you hashtag '#nailart',  '#naildesigns' or anything along those lines loads of beautiful and colourful designs will pop up on your screen. You tube is great for tutorials!

I bought acrylic paint a while ago and have been doing a few more detailed designs and here is the latest...

I bought the WAH NAILS book of nail art which inspired this cooolio piece:)
This is a step by step tutorial on how to create it yourself.

After filling in the squares I originally marked out with my black acrylic paint I went over the lines again to make it look more even.
It was the first time I used acrylic paint (I bought a mini set in tiger for 4 euro!  #bargain) and thought it was great because it dried in so fast!

Tip of the Week:
Whatever you do during the week make sure you take some self care time out for yourself:) Do something you love it could be read a book, paint your nails, take a bath or watch a movie!

I Caught The Travelling Bug!

About three weeks ago I got back from my first girly holiday! OMG it was amazing, I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard. Literally my stomach hurt from laughing so much.

Jairdin De Luxemburg - Paris

I went interailling around Europe with a few friends from school and college. I don't think I could of gone away with a better group of people. We are all so different with lots of unique interests and hobbies, but we all have one thing in common- A SENSE OF HUMOUR. Lol.

I think this is the most important thing to bring when travelling especially during stressful times of packing, catching trains and booking hostels combined with lack of sleep and a thing we liked to call HANRGY ( when you are hungry and VERY irritable lol).

John Lennon Wall- Prague

I never knew there was so many beautiful places to discover in the world! I had to pinch myself a couple of times to remind myself that this is real life.

When you think of an interailing holiday some people may be put of  by the thoughts of baby wipe showers, dirty hostels, shuffling around of heavy bags etc. etc. and to be honest i was a little scared before I went because didn't know what to expect. But none of these thing matter because your'e too busy having fun, laughing and meeting people from all over the world! I would recommend it to everyone. It has really thought me a lot about myself, the world and life.

Personally I feel it has thought me to let go and live a little- Everything works out in the end so you might aswell enjoy the present moment and have fun. Everything doesn't need to be planned and organised to perfection for it to be perfect. Its spontaneity and not knowing what will happen next which makes life exciting!

Amsterdam Bike Ride

I came back really inspired by the people who fought for what they believed in throught out history. It is these people who gave Europe its interesting (and gruesome at times) history. When it seemed people had nothing to live for and it would have been so easy to give up they didn't. They had HOPE. They really believed in a better future for them and their families which kept them going when all odds were against them.

Dom Cathedral- Cologne

Over the next few weeks I will be posting more about my travelling experience so hope you enjoy and stay tuned;)

Girly night with Buff Make-Up!

Last Wednesday I had a lovely little girly night involving wine, make-up and lots of giggles. I went to the Buff Make-Up event which was held in the Westbury Hotel in Dublin (Fancy, I know;)).

Buff is the new make-up brand on the scene with two shops in Dublin, one in Clontarf and one in Drumcondra. The head make-up artists from each shop showed how to create two completely different looks embracing their own unique style of applying make-up using Buff products. It was great to see how they created such different looks from start to finish.

My favourite product they used was their 'Sheer Glo- ' illumination lotion. It can be used as a highlighter after you've applied your make-up or before to give your skin that beautiful glowing look.

'Sheer Glo- Movie Star' - €32

Buff reminds me alot of M.A.C from the packaging to the price tag but some cool things that make buff stand out are:
  • Every compact comes with a little mirror and application brush or sponge.
  • Their HD foundation is AMAZING! It is so silky and a small amount goes along way meaning that it will last and you won't need to run out to buy more any time soon ;)
  • They have a brow pallet which is €25 and comes with a shade to match your eye brow colour, wax, a mini-tweezers and an application brush. Pretty cool right?!

'Bronzer'- €30

'Brow Pallet'- €25
