2 Delicious Recipes for Overripe Bananas- Sunday Baking:)

Sunday in my house is the only day when everyone is off work so today my mam and I decided to have a go at a bit of baking:)

We had a few browning bananas (I always call them the gone off bananas) in the fruit bowl and instead of throwing them out we thought we'd put that yummy potassium goodness to use lol.

On twitter during the week I seen a link to 5 ways to use overripe bananas and tried out 2 of them.
First up was the 'Banana Walnut Oat Bars' (sounds yummy I know;))
The ingredients you need are...
  • Overripe bananas
  • Cinnamom
  • Nuts of choice (I choose walnuts and cashew nuts because they're my fav)
  • Oats
  • Milk

Basically you just mix it all up in a big bowl and distribute them into little cake cases:). I didn't really measure out the ingredients and just went with what felt right.  Whats great about using the overripe bananas is that they are really sweet so I thought there was no need to add in sugar. But if you've a bit of a sweet tooth id say go ahead and add some sugar in.:)
Cook at 180 degrees Celsius (gas mark 4) for about 30 mins.
They come out looking a little something like this...

And taste a little something like this...

The second batch of goods we made are called 'Oatmeal Raisin Breakfast Cookies'. These were my favorite because it involved using a nut butter and oh boy do I love peanut butter!:)
Ingredients include...
  • Nut butter of choice (I used crunchy peanut butter)
  • Oats
  • Raisins
  • Overripe bananas
  • Cinnamom
  • Vanilla extract
  • Sugar if you want some extra sweetness

Same thing again mix it all around and place into little cake cases. I would cook them at the same temp of 180 degrees but keep checking them as I found the raisins I used burnt a tad.
They turned out a little something like this...

The smell of peanut butter in my house while they were cooking was amazing!

Hope you try out one of these nutritious snacks and share it with me on facebook, twitter or instagram:)

Happy baking!

Victoria Secret Body Sprays... 'Summer in a Bottle'

Hello Everybody hope you are all having a great summer so far and creating beautiful memories that will stay with you forever:)
Back in February I went over to London to visit a friend who moved over there for college.
I had been in London once before with my mam when I was younger but couldn't really remember it so I appreciated it more this time.
One thing I was really excited about (after seeing my friend of course lol) was going to the 'Victoria Secret' store! I smelt their body sprays before and thought they were just gorgeous and couldn't wait to buy one of my own!
My favorite kind of perfumes are sweet and fresh ones which was perfect as Victoria Secret body sprays come in so many fruity and delicious scents!
I'm not joking when I say I spent an hour in the shop trying to pick out what one to get. Safe to say when I left I smelt like a bottle of the body spray myself chocking anyone who was walking behind me.

After much deliberation I decided to buy this cute little set...

Instead of getting one I got 5 mini ones!
The size of these bottles are perfect for popping in your bag on a night out, going to work or while doing a bit of shopping:)

My favorite one is 'Coconut Passion'. It like summer in a bottle and never fails to put me in a good mood!

Here's a little snap of myself and Hazel in front of Buckingham Palace acting like typical tourists. LOL.

20 Before 20...

Helllooo fellow earthlings! Hope everyone is having a fabulous day and enjoying the sunshine:)

One thing my friends and family know about me is I always have these great, amazing, supercalafragalistic ideas circling my head about things i'd like to do, places i'd like to go and explore and dreams I want to make a reality!
I sometimes tend to get caught up in the busyness of life and claim I've no time to do things but when is the right time to do anything? It's so easy to keep putting off things but THE TIME TO LIVE IS NOW!
In the words of 'The Script' - 'This ain't no dress rehersal, lemme tell ya kid' LOL

This led me to think that I can either keep putting off all the little things i'd like to do or I can make this summer (my last summer as a teenager, GASP!!) a summer of discovery... Of finding out things about myself, enjoying the little things and taking each moment as it comes:)

I made up a simple, fun list of 20 things I would like to do this summer and i'd like to share it with you and maybe you could join me and make up your own list? #20thingstodobeforeim20

If I don't get them all done its okay, no pressure i'm young I've plenty of time:)  Life is made to be enjoyed!

My list of possibities includes...

  1. Learn how to make candles
  2. Master the art of not taking life so serious and doing things simply for the fun and joy of it :)

  16. Meet new and interesting people who are also travelling. I love meeting new people and finding out about what they like to do and their culture.
  17. Spend a day at the beach reading my book, listening to the sea and sipping on cocktails.
  18. Go to a flower market in Nice.
  19. Have Fun creating memories and make it a beautiful, free summer to remember.
  20. Look at everyday as an opportunity to learn something new!

There is a lot more things I would love to do this summer and it's all possible! Ill leave it at 20 for the moment though.

Every day is a new beginning and anything could happen! One of my favorite quotes is...
'Begin each day with the thought something amazing will happen.'

Amazing things happen everyday but we just don't notice them. So this summer take time to pause from the busyness of life and enjoy the little things. Life is more fun when we focus on what can go right rather then what can go wrong:)

Peace out
xoxo
